How To Transfer A Big File As Quickly As Possible?

by on September 19, 2012

So I’m about to format my hard drive and want to keep my files on a separate disk so I simply drag the folder to the drive but the speed has dropped from 20mb to 5mb and giving me a time of 5 hours for a 40gb folder what’s going on I ask myself. Surely there’s a better way so I start to research online about the problem and come across many forums. Some say it’s to do with your read and write disk drive and others say it’s what you have going on in the background in terms of clearing up more ram. I’m thinking there has to be an easier way so I come across this website and free download offering to transfer at the quickest rate possible. I order some food and start to download this software thinking there’s going to be a catch or it will only transfer a limited amount of data and ask you to purchase the full version to continue. Anyway food’s here and download is done what the hell let’s start this transfer I simply drag and drop the file I want to transfer to the source folder. Ok so far so good it’s at a good speed I start eating by the time I come back it’s nearly finished brilliant that has saved me hours and hours of time that I needed. Great bit of software for transferring anything within your computer and to external disks if you ask me and the best thing about it well of course it is FREE.

Copy files faster. TeraCopy uses dynamically adjusted buffers to reduce seek times. Asynchronous copy speeds up file transfer between two physical hard drives.

Pause and resume file transfers. Pause copy process at any time to free up system resources and continue with a single click.

Error recovery. In case of copy error, TeraCopy will try several times and in the worse case just skips the file, not terminating the entire transfer.
